Mass Communication Department

The Department of Mass Communication was established in 1996 to offer a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication. The purpose of the program is to prepare students for rewarding careers in the field of journalism and communication.

Studying Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, better positions students in all fields of journalism; Multimedia production, Public Relations, Television Production and Management of different media entities. At the end of this program, students are expected to be equipped with skills of creating jobs as journalists, public relations practitioners or communication managers/officers, and advertising agents, video and audio producers, and photographers.

The department equally emphasizes the training of ethical and technologically proficient communication professionals who are capable of making a positive impact on their environment and on society. Students can grow to become informed, responsible, creative, and critical communicators capable of participating broadly in a diverse and rapidly changing media world by doing different program activities.
