IUIU Attends RENU ICT Directors Forum 2022

The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) represented by the ICT Manager Dr. Chemisto Musa and Mr. Oluwole Afolabi the Web Manager is attending the annual ICT Directors Forum 2022 organised by Research & Education Network for Uganda (RENU). RENU is a not-for-profit National Research and Education Network (NREN) in Uganda, which provides affordable ICT services to educational and research organisations in Uganda.
The ICT Directors forum 2022 is taking place at Speke Resort Munyonyo between 28th and 30th September. IUIU as a member of RENU was officially invited to attend and participate in the forum which is focused on the theme "Partnerships, Disruption and Prospects".
The ICT Directors forum 2022 featured several presentations from RENU and the ICT solutions companies about what they can do for Education and Research institutions. The ICT Directors Forum took the opprtunity to celeberate Mr. Klaas Wierenge who on making 3 years since he was being inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame.
Mr. Klaas Wierenge invented eduroam which provides free, secure, international wi-fi roaming service to academic and research communities when they travel to participating institutions all over the world.
