First Ever Recorded Quran by a Female Launched in Uganda

Over 700 Muslims from various Districts in Uganda have today converged at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Main campus in Mbale City to witness the launch of the first of its kind recorded Quran in both audio and Video by a lady in Uganda.

The Quran was recorded by Bushira Rashid Wafula a resident of Nakaloke in Mbale city who is a daughter to late sheikh Rashid Wafula and the launch was honored by the resident city commissioner (RCC) of Mbale city Ahmed Washake as the Guest of Honor.

In her remarks, (Bushira) after the Launch she called upon her fellow girls to emulate her and memorize the Holy Quran as this is the only way the statuses of women will be uplifted.

‘’My fellow girls I urge you to love the holy Quran I know the situation we go through when memorizing is tough but persist and my big dream is to start up a Quran memorization center for girls,’’ she said.

While addressing the congregation, Ahmed Washake the RCC of Mbale city urged parents to impart Islamic knowledge in their children as this will aid to build peaceful community.

‘’As you know Islam came as full religion so I urge you to teach religion to your children as you know the generation, we’re in but if your child is religious, he or will not harm the society,’’ He advised.

Dr. Sulait Kabali, IUIU coordinator who represented the University at the Quran Launch also added his voice by advising parents to teach Islam to their siblings and he also confirmed the authenticity of the launched Quran.

Dr. Kabali added by advising Ms. Bushirah to live an exemplary life in accordance to Quran teachings since she now a light of Islam.

‘’ Bushirah! You have put yourself in light for us we don’t know you but we have known you now, so behave well in line with the Quran if you do you will be a pride to your family and to our religion and you will be remembered always, but if you divert from the Quran, you will regret so tighten yourself to it (Quran),’’He said.

It now on record, that recorded Quran by female Ugandan has officially been launched and soon it will be accessed by very one online.
