Islamic University in Uganda Participated in the 1st Elgon Region Investment Conference, Mbale

The two-day event commenced on the 19^th – 20^th December 2022 and was held at Mbale Resort hotel in Mbale city under the theme ‘’Unlocking Investment Opportunities and a shared vision for the sustainable development of Elgon Region.

In the picture above are IUIU representatives namely: Ms. Nabutsebi Fazira, Dr. Musa Chemisto, Ms. Asha Mafabi Nabulo and Ms. Rehema Kantono.

IUIU was represented by the Vice-Rector, Finance and Administration, Prof. Abdul Kaziba Mpata accompanied by the public relations officer Ms. Rehema Kantono and the ICT manager Dr. Chemisto Musa.

The conference featured several presentations from participating organizations like IUIU, USAID, the ministry of local government, and the Uganda Investment Authority on the contribution of SMEs & government towards creating and enabling an environment for business to thrive and spur local development.

Prof. Abdul advised business entities and organizations to be dependable, reliable, and consistent in order to perform as promised. ‘’Education is key, therefore we must put hands-on in other sectors as well’’ he added.
