IUIU Celebrates its 31st Graduation in Style

Yesterday, 21st January 2023, the Islamic University in Uganda conducted its 31st Graduation Ceremony at the Main Campus, Mbale. The presence of Hon. John Mulimba, Minister of State for Regional Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs graced the auspicious occasion as the Chief guest.

At the graduation ceremony, the Rector, Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda presented different awards to the best graduands in different fields of study.

A total of 1,989 Students graduated at the ceremony, including 31 graduates with certificates, 240 with diplomas, 1564 with Bachelor and 154 with Postgraduate degrees.

The Recor pointed out in his speech, that 54% of the graduands are female and 46% are male. This indicates that IUIU is committed to the education and development of the girl-child. Also in his remarks, he mentioned that IUIU had won the prestigious EUROPEAN QUALITY AWARD for its innovation and its adaptation of blended learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
