Partnership Between Islamic University in Uganda and University of Bosaso Garowe Yields Good Fruits

On 25th February 2023, the University of Bosaso Garowe (UOB), Puntland Somalia celebrated the graduation of some of its staff and other students who completed their studies at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU). The students who graduated during the 31st Graduation of the Islamic University in Uganda undertook a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and Teaching at Higher Education. The ceremony took place at the Martisoor Hotel in Garowe the capital city of Puntland.

The Vice Rector (AA), Dr Jamil Sewranga and Academic Registrar Dr Halima Wakabi Akbari. The Chief Guest, Dr Abdullahi Mohamed Hassan, the Minister for Education Puntland Government congratulated the students upon completing their studies and appreciated the subsisting collaboration between IUIU and UOB. The minister called upon IUIU to continue supporting the people of Puntland Somalia through such academic training given its vast experience in the sub-sector of higher education. Other dignitaries who attended Dr Mohamed Ali Farah – the Vice Minister of Justice, Puntland Government, Dr Muhamud Sh Orman Diyeshe, the President of the University of Bosaso and Dr Mohamed Ali Maslak IUIU envisages starting a Master in Management and Teaching in  Higher Education very soon.
