IUIU holds admission ceremony for 2022-2023 academic year students

Islamic University in Uganda officially admitted students for 2022-2023 in a colorful event on the 4th of May 2023 at the main campus in Mbale.

The students were welcomed by deans of faculty, the academic registrar, and the rector represented by the vice Rector in charge of finance administration prof. Abdul Kaziba Mpaata.

The academic registrar, Dr Halima Wakabi Akbar commended the new students for choosing to join IUIU amongst all universities and that they made the right choice. ‘’ as the academic registrar. I would like to officially welcome you to IUIU.’’ 

‘’ IUIU has all the resources that you need coupled with a conducive environment. I assure you that this is the institution that will propel you towards the achievement of your dreams’’ She added.

The vice-rector in charge of finance and administration prof. abdul kaziba Mpaata who represented the rector also welcomed the students to IUIU.

Prof Abdul informed the new students about the brief history of IUIU and how it has been able to stand the test of time through the 35 years of its existence.

‘’Unlike other universities that are still seeking charters to keep operating, IUIU was enacted through an ACT of parliament. This means that the institution you have chosen is fully accredited and is here to stay with the support of the government.’’
Prof Abdul also mentioned the excellence of IUIU evidenced by the rising number of graduates each year and the great Alumni serving the world in different capacities all over the world.

The vice-Rector called upon the students to shape their character, creativity, courage, competence, and curiosity if they are to succeed while students and later in their careers.

‘’The university gives out awards during every graduation, and to benefit from this do not only learn the grades at IUIU but be also innovative and competent.’’ He added. 

 ‘’The university is in the process of commencing the construction of the faculty of engineering here at the main campus and when it’s completed, we shall have the best Engineering Faculty and modern ICT facilities.’’
