First-Ever Child Immunization Activity At Islamic University In Uganda Females' Campus Health Unit

In partnership with Kyengera HC III, the Females' Campus Health Unit at the Islamic University in Uganda successfully launched its inaugural child immunization initiative, conducting two drives on September 28th and October 26th, 2024. This event marks a significant step toward enhancing child health within the campus community.
Some of the Key Achievements are:
- Vaccination Coverage: 23 children under the age of five were vaccinated, ensuring essential immunization coverage.
- Additional Health Measures: Vitamin A supplements and deworming medications were administered to boost children's overall health.
- Continued Care: Follow-up appointments were scheduled for each child to ensure consistent healthcare support.
Building on the success of these initial drives, the health unit is committed to offering regular child immunization services on the last Saturday of each month. This initiative aims to provide ongoing access to critical vaccines and health support for children within the campus and surrounding community.
