Turuga Foundation Donates Scholastic Materials to Pupils at IUIU Primary school

The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) distributed scholastic materials to the pupils of IUIU Primary School on Friday, April 25th, 2025, as part of its new partnership with the Turuga Foundation.

A total of 613 packages containing books, pencils, crayons, school bags, and water bottles were handed out to pupils during the event. The distribution follows the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IUIU and the Turuga Foundation, aimed at supporting education and nurturing young learners.

The IUIU Public Relations Officer, Ms. Rehema Kantono, and the former Dean of the Faculty of Education, Mr. Kange Rahhamani, represented IUIU at the handover ceremony. Officials from the Turuga Foundation also attended.

This initiative is one of the early outcomes of engagements facilitated by the Centre for Capacity Development (CCD) headed by Mr Saim Celik at IUIU, which has been working to strengthen partnerships that enhance education and community development efforts.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Kantono applauded the partnership, noting that the donation would have a lasting impact on the pupils’ learning experience. She also emphasized IUIU's commitment to fostering collaborations that directly benefit the community.
