IUIU Represented at the 3rd East African Community In-House Counsel Convention

Ms. Nagadya Hamidah, a lecturer at the Islamic University in Uganda's faculty of Law, represented IUIU at the 3rd East African Community in House Counsel Convention, held on 28–29 August 2025.

The event brought together distinguished legal leaders, policymakers, and in-house counsel from across the East African region to engage in meaningful dialogue on advancing legal practice and leadership with a keynote address by Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Ugirashebuja, Minister of Justice in Rwanda.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the President of the East Africa Law Society, Mr. Ramadhan Abubakar, the President of the Rwanda Bar Association, the President of the South Sudan Bar Association, and several other eminent legal leaders, whose presence underscored the importance of regional collaboration in strengthening the legal profession.

Ms. Nagadya Hamidah participated as a Panelist in the session on “Blueprint for Leadership Continuity: Building Resilient Legal Teams.” She shared key insights on gender equity, inclusive leadership pipelines, and strategies for building resilient legal teams to advance the legal profession across the region.

Ms. Hamidah also extended her heartfelt appreciation to the Islamic University in Uganda for its invaluable support, which enabled her meaningful participation in this prestigious regional forum.
