IUIU PARTICIPATES IN THE CONSORTIUM OF ISLAMIC MEDICAL COLLEGES (CIMCO) SCIENTIFIC CONFRENCE.

The CIMCO scientific conference took place between the 6th and 7th of September 2025.
This was hosted by the Indonesian Islamic Medical Association (IIMA) and the Federation of the Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA), at the SYIAH KUALA UNIVERSITY (SKU), Banda Aceh, Indonesia.

The Conference was under the theme:” Towards a holistic and faith-based Medical curriculum.”
IUIU was represented by the University Medical Officer, Dr. Naziru Rashid, who presented a paper entitled “Towards a holistic Islamic Medical Curriculum: Integration of Islamic Knowledge in medical training experiences from Islamic University Uganda.” 

And the vice rector of Finance and Administration, Prof. Dr. Mpaata Abdul Kaziba, presented a paper entitled:’ Factors influencing sustainability in offering university clinical medical education in Uganda: Trajectory hurdles”

The conference attracted other renowned international scholars in the field, including but not limited to Prof. Aasim Padela, USA, and Prof. Sharif Kaf Al-Ghazal, among others.

This conference provided an opportunity for the university to share its experiences in training holistic medical professionals as well as learning from others.
It laid the ground for future collaborations among the CIMCO members in the training of future healthcare professionals.
