IUIU Hosts Delegation from Aditya University India, to Explore Academic Collaboration

  • 28th October, 2025 6:55pm

The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) on Tuesday 27th October 2025,  hosted a delegation from Aditya University, India, for discussions aimed at strengthening academic collaboration, particularly in the fields of engineering and technology.

The team was received by the Academic Registrar, Dr. Adam Ali, who expressed the university’s appreciation for the visit and highlighted the importance of such partnerships as IUIU prepares to launch its own engineering programs.

Dr. Adam noted that the two universities discussed possible areas of collaboration, including staff exchange programs and joint implementation of engineering courses. He said these partnerships would enable IUIU to benefit from Aditya University’s vast experience in technology and innovation.

During the visit, the guests toured IUIU’s main campus in Mbale and interacted with university officials. In the course of the engagements, the university also received Hon. Zaitun Driwarin, an alumna who graduated in the 2005–2006 academic year with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration.

Hon. Zaitun commended the university’s progress since her time as a student, noting the remarkable growth in enrollment from under 1,000 students then to nearly 15,000 across IUIU’s four campuses today. She encouraged students to remain focused and urged the administration to continue working closely with the government to expand infrastructure and academic programs.
