BrighterMonday Uganda and the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) have teamed up to help students gain the soft skills they need to succeed after graduation.
The partnership was announced at the IUIU Female Campus in Kabojja, where both institutions expressed their excitement about giving students practical guidance in areas like writing CVs, preparing for job interviews, and understanding what employers look for.
Prof. Madina Nabukeera, the Director of the campus, said the collaboration comes at the right time.
“We train students to be technically excellent, but they also need soft skills to compete in the real world,” she said. “That’s why we are happy to work with BrighterMonday.”
She also reminded guests that IUIU Female Campus is the only all-women’s university in sub-Saharan Africa, created to empower women through faith, education, and leadership.

Representing BrighterMonday, Ms. Imaa Audrey Grace explained that the training is supported by the MasterCard Foundation and is part of their Career Clinic program.
“Our goal is to help young people develop the skills that will allow them to contribute positively to the economy,” she said. “We want to walk with them from the classroom to the workplace.”
Gender Specialist Ms. Eunice Innocent Katushabe added that empowering young women has a powerful effect on communities.
“When you empower a girl, you empower the nation,” she said. She noted that many Ugandan women are still stuck in subsistence work or are unemployed, and the program hopes to support at least 75% of them to move into better opportunities.
IUIU Assistant Academic Registrar, Mrs. Aminah, expressed her joy at seeing the campus grow from 400 to nearly 2,000 students. She said the training from BrighterMonday is exactly what students need as they prepare for life after university.
“Our students are lucky to have this chance,” she said. She also requested that the program be held every year so that more students can benefit.
The partnership is expected to play a big role in shaping confident, skilled, and job-ready graduates who can contribute to Uganda’s development.
