IUIU Faculty of Law to Host Workshop on Competence-Based Education Training
The Faculty of Law at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has organized a one-day workshop on Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET) scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the University Boardroom, Kampala Campus.
The workshop aims to enhance participants' understanding of competence-based approaches in higher education and their role in improving teaching, learning, and assessment.
The guest speaker will be Ms. Barbara Ganza, a Higher Education Officer for Quality Assurance and Accreditation at the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). She is expected to share insights on quality assurance standards and the implementation of competence-based education in higher institutions of learning.
The event will be hosted by Dr. Adeyemo Wale Lateef, Dean of the Faculty of Law, while the Rector of the Islamic University in Uganda, Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, will serve as the Chief Host.
The workshop is expected to bring together academic staff and other stakeholders to discuss best practices and strategies for strengthening competence-based education within the university.
