ARUA COMMUNITY APPLAUDS IUIU FOR FREE MEDICAL SERVICES

Thousands of community members who turned up for a three days free medical services at Islamic university in Uganda Arua campus have commended the institution for the initiative noting that it has saved them from the unaffordable charges on similar services in private and government health centers.

The excited locals comprising of both Muslims and non-muslims received free HIV/AIDs testing, Malaria screening, Blood group, Hepatitis B testing and Blood pressure checkup among others.

This was part of the activities during the Arua Da’awa Caravan organized by the Islamic University Da’awah liaison and community outreach programme.

An elderly Adisa Marijan a resident of Nsambia village, Arua municipality revealed that her poor financial status has left her with no option than staying back home as she can neither withstand the competitive government health centers nor afford private clinics.

“You people have really helped us the poor and weak ones, I had given up on anything related to hospitals but when my grand child told me about the free testing at the University, I had to take my time and walked slowly up to here and alhamdulillah I now know my health status”. Adisa explained.

The four days Caravan held at IUIU Arua campus saw the Da’awah team visit Arua prison, hold seminars for youth, sheikhs and women, distribute cloths to the poor and carried out Friday summons in over ten mosques within the district.
