Dr. Benjamin Commends IUIU For Continuous Support

Dr. Benjamin Ajal A lecturer at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), presented a copy of his newly authored book, Conservation, Displacement, and Conflict: Searching for Truth and Reconciliation at Mount Elgon, Uganda, on February 26, 2025, to Dr Jamil Serwanga the Vice-Rector Academics IUIU during a courtesy call on Wednesday evening. Accompanied by Engineer Robert James Ajal, Dr. Benjamin expressed gratitude for the university’s support in completing their PhD and the subsequent publication of the book.
The book, which explores critical issues of environmental conservation, displacement, and conflict in the Mount Elgon region, has been deposited in several prestigious libraries, including the Royal National Library of the Netherlands, the National Library of Uganda, and the Radboud University Nijmegen Library. It carries the ISBN 978-9913676069 and is a testament to Dr. Ajal's dedication to scholarly research and community impact.
During the meeting, the Vice-Rector of Academics, Dr Jamil Serwanga, commended Dr. Ajal for his achievements and encouraged further contributions to academia. He urged him to pursue competitive grants on behalf of IUIU, particularly in the field of environmental conservation, and to continue publishing articles to amplify their research.
