- 08th October, 2021 12:00am
With deep sorrow, we announce the death of Ms. Victoria Mukiibi Muwonge, a lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the Islamic University in Uganda. We express our sincere sympathies to the family, friends, relatives, and colleagues on behalf of the Management, staff, and students here at IUIU. The University and the world have lost a great pillar, mentor, teacher, and mother.
Madam Vicky, as commonly known, was highly respected by the Management, employees, and student alike throughout the entire University community. She was regarded as a visionary teacher and colleague by anyone who ever worked with her.
She has served the University since 1988. Vicky’s contributions during her 33 years of dedicated and selfless service were many and varied. She was a significant part of IUIU’s Faculty of Education growth. The IUIU will not forget the contributions of Madam Vicky because many of the institution’s employees and managers have gone through her hands.
The honorable legacy that Ms. Muwonge leaves behind offers inspiration and challenge to anyone who aspires to emulate this great woman. We hope the reminders that surround us of how she has enriched the lives of all who have had the privilege to be associated and or train with her will soon bring us comfort and relief of sorrow.
Ms. Muwonge has been a very thoughtful and committed teacher who has trained many academicians and teachers. We cherish most her visionary leadership and clarity of thought,  constant inspiration, and encouragement to the staff and students of Islamic University in Uganda, especially in the Faculty of Education. The IUIU community will miss this great education advocate and inspiring educationist.
We sympathize with the family, friends, students, colleagues, alumni, and the entire community who mourn and pray for peace and comfort at this difficult time. May the Almighty God grant her eternal peace!Â
