Assoc. Prof. Matovu Highlights Successful PhD Dissertation Defense at IUIU

Students from the Faculty of Education at Islamic University In Uganda came together to celebrate Education Week from October 31st to November 3rd, 2023 at the main campus in Mbale.
The event was Organized by the students and their umbrella association of IUIU Education Students’ Association aimed to foster a sense of community and responsibility among future educators under the theme, "Building the New Eco-Social Uganda: Putting Teachers Forward."
The festivities kicked off with intellectual energy, with thought-provoking quiz competitions and heated debates which were Aired live on IUIU FM Radio. The students engaged in lively discussions, showcasing their knowledge, critical thinking skills, and passion for the field.
Students also engaged in a day of community service Armed with brooms, and gloves, and cleaned the market opposite the university (NKOMA MARKET). The initiative not only promoted a cleaner environment but also demonstrated the students' and IUIUs’ commitment to social responsibility beyond the classroom.
The students also participated in sports activities where they showcased their athletic prowess in football, netball, etc.
The Week ended with the welcome party for incoming students to the Faculty of Education. The best debaters were honored for their outstanding contributions, receiving awards that recognized their eloquence and analytical skills.
Certificates were awarded to all participants, symbolizing their active involvement in the various activities throughout Education Week highlighting the importance of recognizing and appreciating the diverse talents and efforts that contribute to the vibrant Faculty of Education.
The event left an indelible mark, reminding everyone that education is not just a theoretical pursuit confined within classroom walls but a dynamic force capable of driving positive change in society.
