IUIU Holds Guild Handover Ceremony

Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) witnessed the ceremonial transition of leadership within its guild on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the main campus Mbale. 

 

The event was graced by the Rector IUIU Assoc Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, the Vice-Rector of Finance and Administration prof Abdul Kaziba Mpaata, the university coordinator, and other members of staff. 

 

The Outgoing Lady Vice President Muduwa Mastula expressed gratitude towards the university administration for their unwavering guidance and support, particularly in facilitating students' participation in diverse activities, including sports competitions and co-curricular events aimed at nurturing talent.

 

The Outgoing Guild President H.E Oguti Nasir lauded the administration for its continuous support towards student welfare. He highlighted several achievements during their tenure, including the installation of CCTV cameras for enhanced security, hostel renovations, and the establishment of a coffee shop on campus.

 

Incoming Lady Vice President H.E Nabirye Aisha thanked Allah for His blessings and expressed her grtitude to the student body for entrusting her with the responsibility of leadership.

 

Incoming Guild President Ssebunya Shafie thanked the students for their overwhelming support and love. He commended the administration for its dedication to excellence and urged students to freely voice their concerns to the student leadership.

 

 

University Coordinator Mr. Mukhwana Siraj commended the Rector for gracing the event and expressed gratitude to the university administration for their support towards student activities. He welcomed the new leaders and assured them of continuous support from the coordinator's office.

 

Vice-Rector Finance and Administration Prof. Abdul Kaziba Mpaata congratulated the office of the university coordinator for conducting successful elections and urged the new leadership to collaborate with the outgoing guild to achieve institutional goals.

 

In his address, The Rector, Assoc Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, expressed gratitude to Allah for His blessings and commended the smooth transition of leadership facilitated by the coordinator's office. He thanked the outgoing guild president for his dedicated service and encouraged the new leadership to work in harmony with the administration.

 

The Rector pledged to prioritize student issues, particularly focusing on the welfare of the girls' hostel. He highlighted the success of the IUIU Alumni Club and urged new guild officials, under the leadership of H.E Ssebunya, to serve the university diligently. He concluded by praying for Allah's guidance for the new leadership to achieve their goals.
