IUIU Participates in National Science Week 2022

This week, Uganda is celebrating National Science Week from November 7th to 10th 2022. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation - Office of the President is coordinating the weeklong events at Kololo Grounds.
IUIU is joining other Universities, Institutes and Companies from the public and private sectors who are exhibiting their STI ideas and products.
IUIU is exhibiting in 2 areas:
e-Learning and Internet of Things (IoT). The Motion Analysis Research Laboratory (MARL) from Kampala Campus is showcasing the innovative ideas in Robotics that are geared to addressing problems in the society.
Our ICT department is highlighting IUIU's great strides in e-Learning. IUIU is setting trends in Uganda's Higher Education in online and blended learning as well as digitization of academic, administrative and financial operations.
Today, the Rector of IUIU Assic. Prof. Dr. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, accompanied by the PRO, Mrs. Rehema Kantono attended the morning session, where the Minister of STI-OP, Dr. Monica Musenero Masanza welcome secondary school students at the FAIR to encourage them to become innovators.
She introduced the Scientists behind a US Satellite that contains Scientific experiments by Ugandan Students, that is due to be launched today at 1:30 pm from the NASA station, USA.
She urged all Ugandan Institutions from secondary schools to Institutesbof Higher Education to change the way they do things so as to empower students to think science and do science, to innovate and be creative in solving our problems using science.
The week is including panel discussions on STI themes, and exhibition of ideas/products.
