Assoc. Prof. Matovu Highlights Successful PhD Dissertation Defense at IUIU

The Rector of the Islamic University in Uganda, Professor Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, has expressed his gratitude for the caring hearts of Saudis who have extended support to people in Uganda.
This was during a Ramadan donation at the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Kampala.
The donation which included shopping vouchers & dates was delivered on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, by the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Jamal Mohammed Hassan Al-Madani.
Ambassador Al-Madani expressed appreciation for the growing relationship between the two nations and promised continued support from Saudi Arabia.
While speaking at the event, Prof. Ismail commended the Kingdom of Saudi for their generosity and compassion as a sign of their continuous gesture of friendship with Uganda. ‘’ as far as IUIU is concerned, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been our friend from the very beginning’’ ‘’They have supported us to build King Fahad Plaza, scholarships and now through our partnership with them, we’re building a new library’’ he added
The event was attended by clerics and community leaders like Sheikh Abdallah Ibrahim Semambo, who also expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s support to Uganda in various areas.
