The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has conducted training for supervisors across all its campuses on the University’s online performance evaluation and appraisal process.
The training was organised by the Office of the University Secretary and brought together Heads of Departments, Deans and other staff responsible for supervising and evaluating employee performance.
In his welcoming remarks, the Vice Rector in charge of Finance and Administration, Assoc. Prof. Abdul Kaziba Mpaata, commended the Academic ERP Department for its creativity and innovation in developing the system. He also appreciated the Rector for positioning IUIU to embrace emerging trends and strengthen the University’s digital transformation.
Prof. Mpaata urged supervisors to contribute to the actualisation of the IUIU Strategic Plan, strengthen partnerships with high-level institutions and stakeholders, and create supportive working environments within their respective departments.
He further encouraged supervisors to prioritise initiatives that advance the University’s mandate and assured staff that the Rectorship would continue to provide the necessary support and resources to facilitate steady institutional progress.
The Deputy University Secretary, Mr Rashid Kinsanbwe, reminded staff of their personal responsibility to apply for contract renewal and promotion in accordance with the University’s policies and procedures.
The training featured a hands-on demonstration of the online performance evaluation and appraisal process, enabling supervisors to practically navigate the system and gain a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities in the process.
The training follows a sensitisation seminar previously conducted for staff across all IUIU campuses on the online performance evaluation and appraisal system, marking another step towards strengthening efficiency, accountability, and digitalisation of human resource processes at the University.
