Staff and Students at The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Main Campus in Mbale were treated to an Iftar Dinner on Friday 21st March 2025.
The event, hosted by Associate Professor Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, marked not only a moment of spiritual reflection in the last ten days of Ramadan but also a celebration of IUIU’s 37-year journey in higher education.
Associate Professor Gyagenda expressed deep gratitude to Allah for the blessings of Ramadan and the continued success of IUIU. He acknowledged the university’s steady progress over the years, highlighting key developments such as the near completion of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, a new 500-bed hostel at the Kampala campus, and the establishment of a Halal Laboratory at Females Campus in Kabojja.
“We are building this university with unwavering dedication,” he remarked, appreciating the efforts of all stakeholders, including management, staff, and students.
The Rector also took a moment to acknowledge the short-notice invitations sent to some guests and thanked everyone for attending.
He extended his gratitude to the organizers, including the University Secretary and Academic Registrar, and the vendors who had worked hard to prepare the evening’s meal.
Professor Gyagenda wished everyone well in their remaining days of Ramadan, praying for Allah’s continued guidance and blessings.
