Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) hosted a delegation from Shenzhen Pengcheng Technician College, China, and Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park on Friday, 16 October 2026, at the Main Campus in Mbale, to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, vocational training and institutional partnership.
The delegation was received by a team of university administrators led by the Academic Registrar, Dr Adam Ali. The visitors held a brief meeting in the university boardroom before embarking on a guided tour of selected facilities across the campus.
During the tour, the delegation visited the Food Science Laboratory, IUIU FM radio station, and the Faculty of Engineering, where they were introduced to facilities and academic programmes relevant to practical training, skills development, and industry-oriented education.
The visit follows a request by Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park to engage IUIU on areas of mutual interest, including the development of vocational training opportunities, culinary arts, food processing and the establishment of practical training centres.
The delegation also expressed interest in sharing updates on the development of an overseas exchange base for the Cantonese Cuisine Master project, introducing vocational training standards from Shenzhen and exploring opportunities for joint training initiatives.
