In a significant move toward expanding international horizons and fostering continental educational integration, the Vice Rector in charge of Academic Affairs at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), Associate Professor Jamil Serwanga, held a high-profile diplomatic meeting with His Royal Highness, Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, the Emir of Keffi, in Nigeria.
The landmark meeting brought together two distinguished academic icons to deliberate on critical milestones for higher education in Africa. His Royal Highness Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III—himself a renowned scholar holding a Ph.D. in Energy Law and serving as the Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) and Atiba University—warmly welcomed Assoc. Prof. Jamil Serwanga to explore strategic collaborations, student-faculty exchanges, and cross-border research projects.
During the productive dialogue, the two leaders mapped out avenues for mutually beneficial institutional partnerships. They focused tightly on establishing joint academic ventures, capacity building, and innovative projects designed to address the unique socio-economic development challenges across the East and West African regions.
This strategic engagement marks a renewed chapter in IUIU's mission to deliver globally competitive, value-based education by cementing powerhouse alliances across the Islamic world and the African continent.
