IUIU Hosts Visiting Delegation from Turkiye

Today, Monday September 12th 2022, IUIU welcomed a powerful delegation of businessmen and investors from the Federal Republic of Turkiye at a Luncheon held at IUIU, Kampala Campus.
Led by HE, Ambassador Nusura Tiperu, representative of Uganda to Turkiye, the delegation was received by the Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda and other members of IUIU management. Al Hajj Muhammad Tamale Buzindadde, member of IUIU Finance Committee was also present.
The visitors included Mr. Fikret Yildirim, head of the Ankara province for a 200 member Association of Private Companies and team leader, Mr. Cengiz Cumhur Soylu, Chairman of the group and Mr. Nazli Seyfettin.
Prof. Gyagenda thanked HE Ambassador Tiperu for bringing the visitors to IUIU and assured them of IUIU readiness to engage in business.
Ambassador Tiperu urged IUIU to work with the investors in different mutually beneficial areas like Agribusiness, and link them with other national projects that Government has identified.
Al Hajj Tamale thanked the Ambassador and the visitors for choosing IUIU and urged the relevant financial units of IUIU to step up and support these efforts so that they reduce IUIU's over dependence on tuition.
Among the IUIU officials at the Luncheon were the VRAA, Dr. Jamil Serwanga, the VRFA, Prof. Mpaata, the AR, Dr. Halima Akbar Wakabi, the Dean of Agribusiness and Natural Resources Sciences, Prof. Muhammad Al Nur Taha, Dr. Taha Kasule, Director Kampala Campus and Mr. Dramani, Director Arua.
The visitors are scheduled to visit the Females' Campus and the Main Campus and to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with IUIU targeting specific areas of collaboration.
