Islamic university in Uganda has joined other National and International universities to take part in the 11th National council for Higher Education (NCHE) Exhibition being held at the Uganda Manufacturers’ Association (UMA) show grounds, Lugogo.
The three days event that started on 21st March 2019 has attracted over 40 universities across Africa showcasing their Information and Technological inventions, displaying their systems as well as products, interacting with secondary school students, meeting parents and also giving out University souvenirs.
Speaking to the Islamic University in Uganda Marketing officer Ms. Shamim Habiib, she says during the entire event, IUIU will exhibit its unique Electronic voting system, the 2014 ACIA Business Excellence Award winning IT invention; The Enterprise Resource planning (ERP) system; an Electronic centralized system that manages all university’s operations such as Academics, Finance and Library among others for easier monitoring, decision making etc.
“Since the University blends its academic programmes with various skill, students shall also exhibit hand made products like carpets, crafty bags, baskets, door mats, outfits among others produced by our students.” Shamim added.
The marketing officer who is heading the IUIU team also noted that such exhibitions are very important because they bridge the gap between universities and their feeders such as secondary schools.
She explained that this an opportunity to establish contacts between various prospective students and universities as well as laying a platform for career guidance to the students.
