5th Vice Chancellors' Forum of Islamic Countries

ICESCO in collaboration with Pakistan's Higher Education Commission, COMSATS University, and the British Council, Pakistan organised the 5th Vice Chancellors' Forum from 19th to 20th March at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad.
 
The theme of the Forum is "Universities in the Islamic World: Towards Disruptive Technology in a Globalized World". Participants came from over 100 Pakistani Universities and 20 Universities from all over the Muslim world.
 
From Uganda, IUIU was represented by the Rector Assoc. Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda and Kampala University was represented by the DVC Academics, Research, Innovation and Internationalization, Dr Wardah Rajab-Gyagenda. Vice-Chancellors from Universities in Nigeria, Chad and Sudan were also represented.
 
There was a call for Universities from the Muslim world must use the 21st disruptive technologies to collaborate in teaching, research, and innovation and ensure that their innovations improve the communities' socioeconomic welfare.
