Dr. Manswab is a senior lecturer in the Department of Shariah at the Islamic University in Uganda. He earned his Ph.D. from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2019, specializing in the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Fiqh & Usul-Fiqh). He also obtained his Master's in Sharia and Law from the University of Dongola, Sudan, in 2013. In 2012, he completed a postgraduate diploma in International Relations from the Sudan Academy of Science. He received his Bachelor's degree from the School of Sharia and Islamic Studies at the International University of Africa, Khartoum, Sudan, in 2010. Dr. Manswab began his career as a tutorial fellow in 2013 at the College of Islamic Studies in Mombasa, affiliated with the International University of Africa, Khartoum, Sudan. Since then, he has been teaching various courses in Islamic studies and Islamic finance. Additionally, he authored a textbook on Islamic jurisprudence related to bank transactions for the same college. He also taught Islamic law courses at Raf University between 2015 and 2016. From 2019 to 2020, Dr. Manswab was a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Pwani University. Between 2015 and 2023, he taught various courses at Umma University's School of Sharia and Islamic Studies at both the Bachelor's and Master's levels. During this period, he also served as head of the department for two terms: 2015-2016 and 2019-2020. In 2023, he was an adjunct professor at the United States International University-Africa, Kenya, School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He was promoted to senior lecturer in August 2024, after being appointed as a lecturer in May 2019. Dr. Manswab has contributed thirty three peer-reviewed articles, some indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science (WOS). He has also authored four scholarly books, including Studies in Islamic Theology and Principles (ISBN: 978-9914-50-074-5), Muslim Family Law and Practices (ISBN: 978-9913-676-03-8), Theory and Practice in Islamic Inheritance (ISBN: 978-9914-768-17-6) and Biography of the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) (ISBN: 978-9914-9637-8-6). Additionally, he has presented approximately eight research papers at national and international conferences. His involvement with refereed journals includes serving as chief editor, editorial board member, and article assessor, having evaluated over 80 research papers in both Arabic and English. His research interests include Islamic family law, Islamic finance, African customary law, and Islamic theology. He has supervised master's students at Umma University and Mount Kenya University in Kenya. In recognition of his academic contributions, Dr. Manswab was named to the World Scientist and University Ranking in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. In conclusion, his research focuses on promoting social justice through practical engagement and addressing contemporary societal issues.
