Muslims Urged to Cultivate Humility, and Civility in their Lives.

The Rector of Islamic University in Uganda prof Ismail simbwa Gyagenda has urged Muslims to extend humility, civility, and character in their lives.

The Rector who was represented by the Vice-Rector in charge of finance and administration prof Abdul Kaziba Mpaata said this during Eid Al Adha prayers held on wednesday 28th June 2023 at the main campus in Mbale.

Eid Al-Adha, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," is one of the most significant celebrations observed by Muslims worldwide. This time-honored occasion commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, symbolizing devotion and submission. Beyond the religious significance, Eid Al-Adha is a time for family, community, and reflection.

The Rector urged the Muslims to be role models, educate and teach people about Islam which will prepare them for generations to come after them.
He congratulated the believers upon reaching the graceful day and emphasized the need to cater and share with the needy to enable them to enjoy themselves during the celebrations.

The prayers were led by the representative of the Supreme Mufti of Uganda in the eastern region Sheikh Ahmad Hamid Wandega. Sheikh Wandega urged Muslims to be patient, and respectful by following the example of the  Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, symbolizing devotion and submission.
