Faculty of Arts And Social Sciences Recognizes Outstanding Students

The Faculty of Arts And Social Sciences (FASS) at Islamic University in Uganda recently held an event to honor its best-performing students. The event was attended by the Academic registrar represented by the Deputy AR Mr. Semakula Hussein, the Dean of faculty, Mr. Sekanyo Isa, lecturers, and students.

The Dean of FASS, Mr. Sekanyo Isa emphasized the significance of academic achievement alongside social responsibility, urging students to remain committed to both aspects. He congratulated the students for their outstanding performance and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.

Mr Sekanyo commended the older students Acknowledging their exemplary performance and setting a positive example for their younger peers within their respective courses.

The deputy Dean of Fass represented by Mrs. Aisha Aiseta, extended congratulations to the students and praised their dedication and hard work. She expressed gratitude to the academic staff and colleagues for their guidance and mentorship, encouraging students to pursue excellence and contribute positively to their communities.

Mr. Benjamin Ajal, the head of the Department of Economics, encouraged students to engage in co-curricular activities and build networks beyond their academic pursuits. He emphasized the importance of utilizing platforms like LinkedIn to establish meaningful connections that could aid in their future careers.

In his address the Deputy Academic Registrar Mr Semakula Hussein reiterated the significance of networking, citing personal experiences with former classmates who are now colleagues. He commended the faculty for organizing such events to motivate and encourage students, fostering an environment of collaboration and sharing among peers.

Mr Semakula praised the students for their outstanding performance while challenging them to strive for even greater achievements. He emphasized the importance of personal initiative in education, urging students to go beyond the notes provided by lecturers and to utilize social media as a tool for productive learning.

The registrar Encouraged students to think innovatively and pursue their passions to empower themselves and others, emphasizing the value of starting small and fostering creativity.

StudentS were later presented with certificates, marking their exceptional academic accomplishments and recognizing their commitment to excellence.
