The newly elected Islamic university in Uganda studentsí representatives for the 2019 -2020 Academic year are to be sworn in on Thursday 28th march 2019 at the main campus Mbale.
The ceremony is expected to be graced by top University Administrators and the elect Guild President H.E. Muhamud Ali Muhamud Abdulle is expected to present his Executive body members, Cabinet, State ministers and members of Parliament to take oath.
The decision to hold the swearing in ceremony follows a Monday ruling by the University tribunal against a petition filled by Awuf Ratib, a Guild contestant challenging the March 16th poll results.
Mr. Awuf Ratib, a law student was beaten by His colleague Muhamud Ali Muhamud with a margin of 30 votes but He did not conform to the results citing irregularities.
While Presenting the over 5 paged analysis of the Petition at the university guest house in the presence of the University Public relations officer among other staffs and hundreds of students, the Assistant University Secretary Mr. kinsambwa Rashid read out that there were no concrete evidences to the allegations presented by the petitioner that would lead to the nullification of the poll results.
Speaking to the Chairman Electoral commission Mr. Manan Viniket, he confirmed the event and revealed that it will be conducted at 4:00pm at the Universityís Sumaya Hall.
